🏁 Next Steps Upgrading Your Motorcycle Licence

Now that you’ve completed your 1-Day RideSmart Q-Ride Unrestricted Course, it’s time to upgrade your licence!

If you received a hand-written certificate, you will need to visit a TMR (Transport and Main Roads) Customer Service Centre to process your upgrade.

Important Note:

RideSmart provides guidance based on current riding and licensing requirements. However, it is your responsibility to stay up to date with the latest rules and information provided by TMR.

Your competency declaration is only valid for 1 year from the date of issue. If you do not upgrade to an R licence within 1 year, it will expire and you will need to do the Q-Ride course again to get a new competency declaration. There is no fee to upgrade your licence. However you will have to pay a fee if you are renewing your licence at the same time.

Continuing to refine your skills will keep you confident, safe, and ready for any riding challenge — and the possibilities are endless! From advanced rider training to track days, you can continue to push your limits and improve your skills in a safe, controlled environment.
